Foster Care

There are times when children must temporarily live with people other than their parents or biological family. CHRIS 180 Foster Care Services identify, and train committed, responsible adults to care for children in state custody until they can either be reunited with their families or adopted into their forever home. How do I become a foster parent?

The first step to becoming a foster parent is to attend a CHRIS 180 orientation session (see calendar) . There you will learn more about the state system and children in care, the requirements of licensure, and the home study process.  This is also a time to ask your questions!  We want to ensure you are making the best decision for you and your family.
